Terms and Conditions

1. Beyond the Frame youth art competition is conducted by Knox City Council.
2. Entry into this competition means that you accept these terms and conditions.
3. Entry is open to young people aged 10-25 years of age at the time of entry. Group/school based submissions will be allowed as long as all the Artists/ Creators are aged 10-25 years at the time of entry.
4. Entrants must live, work, study or have a connection to Knox.
5. All Entries must be the original work.
6. All Entries are due by 25 August 2024 by 11:59pm. Only entries that are received in accordance with these Competition Terms and Conditions and during the Promotion Period will be eligible for entry. No late entries will be accepted.
   • Simply upload your image(s) www.knox.vic.gov.au/youthartcompetition and complete the entry details.
   • You can submit up to ten images for inclusion and more than one may be selected.
   • All valid entries will be displayed during the month of September and at the launch event.
7. The winner will be announced at a launch event on 'date to be announced' at the Youth Hive (inside Knox Library) Westfield Knox, 425 Burwood Highway, Wantirna South. Knox City Council reserves the right to not announce a winner in any category for any reason.
8. Each entry will be individually judged, based upon individual creative merit. All entries must be an independent creation by the entrant and free of any claims that they infringe any third party rights.
9. The entries will be judged by a panel, made up of the judges from the Youth Competition Committee (young people), Youth Services team and community expert (photographer/ digital creator).
10. Knox City Council reserves the right to use the entrant's name and original work for any purpose, including future promotional marketing and publicity purposes.
11. Entrants must not seek to approach or influence any panel member during the judging period of this competition. No correspondence will be entered into between the panel and entrants except as set out in these terms and conditions.
12. The panel reserve the right to disqualify any entrant submitting an entry which, in the opinion of the judges, includes objectionable content, including but not limited to profanity, nudity, potentially insulting, scandalous, inflammatory or defamatory images or language or of a political nature. The judges' decision will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.
13. Applicants must ensure that all details on the entry form are true and correct and if you are under 18 years old, your parent or guardian must sign submit the form on your behalf.
14. All images remain the property of the photographer / entrant - with use by Knox City Council for the exhibition, display and including current and future promotional marketing and publicity purposes

Assessment Criteria

1. All entrants will be judged according to the following themes: Connect, Participate, Celebrate; and by age category:
   • 10-13 years
   • 14-18 years
   • 19-25 years.
2. Each entrant's age will be considered as at the time of entry and proof of age may be requested.
3. All entrants will be judged according to the following criteria:
   • Creativity of the submitted image; and
   • Artistic techniques applied.
4. If there are identifiable people used in your image, you will need to get an image consent form signed in order to enter the image. This image consent form must be submitted with your entry form.
5. Images that will be accepted include:
   • Photos
   • Digital images (including AI art)
   • Minecraft and other game art
6. The image must not contain any information that identifies the entrant (e.g. no names or watermarks in your photo).

Prizes and Awards

• The prizes are non-transferable and non-redeemable for cash
• First prize - a $200 gift voucher will be awarded for each age category (from any of all of the themes, not one per theme)
• Second prize - a $100 gift voucher will be awarded for each age category (from any of all of the themes, not one per theme)
• There are also 2 x $100 People's choice award which will be voted on at the Exhibition Launch.
