Civic Art Collection

The Civic Art Collection features art works and objects collected by Council that demonstrate high technical skills or themes relevant to Knox. It includes paintings, fine art photography, drawings and stained glass.

Many of the works in the Civic Collection tell stories of our community’s past. 

There is a photographic series by Andrew Chapman OAM, titled Sporting Heroes, where local sports people are depicted with the tools of their trade. 
Another photographic series highlights the damage to the original Civic Centre after the tragic 1994 fire. 
There are donated works that capture local environments, and a stunning stained glass window series installed in the ceiling of Civic Centre foyer.  

Civic Collection works are displayed across a variety of Civic buildings and Council Offices. 

The Knox Civic Art Collection is governed by Council's Civic Art Policy.
