Our native bird species forage for material including dry leaves, bark, and twigs to help build their nests. In urban settings, where natural nesting materials are scarce, birds often resort to scavenging from other nests or utilising synthetic plastics, which can be dangerous for chicks.

Help our local birds to create nests safely.  Join this free workshop hosted by Gardens for Wildlife to learn how to build a bird nesting dispenser using chicken wire.  After finishing your dispenser, you can bring it home and load it with natural materials from your garden for the local birds to enjoy.
