- Fire Danger Period starts 30 January
The Country Fire Authority (CFA) has declared a Fire Danger Period for Knox commencing Monday 30 January.
During this time, the use of fire in the community is restricted. The following activities are impacted:
- Burning off is not permitted
- Barbeques and campfires are restricted
- We will not be issuing Permits to Burn
If you have been issued a Permit to Burn, it will no longer be valid during a Fire Danger Period. You will need to reapply for a new permit once the Fire Danger Period ends. Refer to our Burning off webpage for more information.

We also encourage you to prepare your property for bushfire season and help protect your family and home. For advice on bushfire preparedness, view the Emergency preparedness booklet or visit the CFA website.
