- The excitement is building at Stud Park
We are excited to announce that construction of the new playspace at Stud Park is starting.
Stud Park, located at Fulham Road, Rowville is a busy and attractive local space for outdoor activities. To ensure the park continues to meet the needs of the community from now and into the future, a new all-inclusive playspace is being built that will honour the heritage of the area and bring children of all ages, cultural and social background together in play.
Following a period of community consultation across 2021 and 2022, a playspace design has been achieved and a contractor has appointed to undertake works.
The upgrade at Stud Park will see the construction of a playspace that reflects the farming heritage of Rowville. The design will also promote many different styles of play (such as sensory, imaginary, social) and include equipment that is suitable for use by children of all ages and abilities, including:
- A farm truck with interactive panels
- A mammoth ‘basket’ swing
- A pioneer style farmhouse structure with sliding poles, bridges and climbing elements
- Sandpit with water play
- An accessible carousel
- A trike/scooter track
- Chat boards for conversing with non-verbal people
Additional features such as new pathways, a charging station and additional seating and gathering areas will also become part of the new playspace.
Works will start the week of 26 June 2023 and are scheduled for completion in October 2023.
The Stud Park playspace is located next to the Rowville Community Centre and neighbouring tennis courts. Whilst works are underway, some parking spaces adjacent to the tennis courts will be unavailable and the playground area will not be accessible.
