A variety of activities that encourage mindfulness for all ages, including walking, movement, tai chi, yoga, and mat pilates.

Move group

Morning walking group for the community to get started and active for the day.

Hosted at Knox Leisureworks, 35 Tormore Road, Boronia.

Tai chi

Discover the benefits that the ancient art of Tai Chi has on the body and mind for adults and seniors.

This session will provide an introduction to Tai Chi movements, breathing and relaxation techniques, and strategies to improve your balance and posture.

Hosted at Carrington Park Leisure Centre, 20 O’Connor Road, Knoxfield.

Yoga

Mat and chair yoga including breathing exercises.

Hosted by Indian Senior Citizens Association of Victoria (ISCA) at 16/18 Kingsley Close, Rowville.

Finding greater freedom in movement

The session will focus on developing a greater awareness of yourself in everyday movement through a number of activities focusing on breath, sound, and gentle movement explorations for adults.

Hosted at The Basin Triangle, 376 Forest Rd, The Basin – Meet at the rear of The Basin Progress Hall.

Mat pilates

Discover the many benefits of mat pilates with this 50-minute class that will focus on improving coordination, strength, balance, and posture through a targeted series of full-body exercises.

Hosted at Carrington Park Leisure Centre, 20 O’Connor Road, Knoxfield.

  • Saturday 22 February, 9:00-10:00 am.

Pilates is a mat-based class that focuses on improving balance, flexibility, coordination, and core strength for everyone.

Hosted at Knox Leisureworks, 35 Tormore Road, Boronia.

  • Wednesday 26 February, 7:45-8:30 pm.

What to wear: Whatever you feel comfortable in, but we recommend wearing loose-fitting clothes or gym gear and bring a drink bottle and yoga mat if you have one.

For beginners: Beginners are welcome! However, it's advisable to consult your GP before starting a new exercise program.

Venue accessibility

Please note that not all venues are wheelchair and pram accessible due to limited paved paths in some reserves.
