Chandler Road shared path and road renewal project

One of the key directions in the Boronia Renewal Strategy is to create a healthy, active, and connected community by reducing reliance on cars and improving safety for pedestrians and cyclists in the area.

As part of the Boronia Renewal Strategy, the community told us that improving safety and mobility in central Boronia was important. To meet this need we are upgrading the shared path and roads within the main activity centre. These works will be delivered from 2024 – 2027.

About the project

We’re upgrading the bike and walking path from Tormore Reserve, along Genista Avenue and Chandler Road, to Albert Avenue making it easier to access local facilities or enjoy a simple walk or bike ride.

We’re also planting more trees and landscaping along the shared path route and conducting road renewal works on Chandler Road making it safer for cars and public transport.

Construction work will take place in three stages:

The Chandler Road shared path and road renewal project is being delivered by Knox City Council with support from the Victorian State Government Suburban Revitalisation Program

Works are expected to begin in late 2024.
