Knox Park’s much-loved Athletics Track in the heart of Knoxfield is open to the public, unveiling a tremendous $5.1 million transformation. The project was delivered in partnership with the Victorian Government.
Home to many local clubs and over 90 local school athletic carnivals per year, the track has undergone a major redevelopment. Works included:
- track renewal
- footpath renewal
- LED sports lighting renewal
- additional shade sails
- a new scoreboard
- PA system upgrade.
The track is open to the public from 5am to 9pm daily.
“The improvements undertaken have enhanced the facility immeasurably with all users, be it casual users or club members - the new running track surface is world class,“ Phillip Bateman, Knox Athletics Board Secretary and Treasurer says.
The opening marks a new era of athletics in Knox, ensuring Knox Park remains a premier destination for our community.
With top-tier facilities for athletics, triathlons and general fitness, all ages and abilities are invited to explore the new track and improve their health.
