- New CEO Appointed
Mr Bruce Dobson has been appointed as Knox City Council’s new Chief Executive Officer.
Mayor Lisa Cooper said Mr Dobson is a highly regarded local government leader and joins Knox City Council at an important time.
“I congratulate Mr Dobson on his appointment to this pivotal role. He has a deep understanding of local government and community, and will play a significant role in helping Council to achieve the priorities set out in our new Community and Council Plans,” Cr Cooper said.
Bruce Dobson is an experienced senior leader with a track record of driving organisational performance and delivering superior outcomes and service to the community.
He comes to Knox having served in senior executive roles at the City of Boroondara for the past 11 years across portfolios including corporate services, environment and infrastructure, customer experience and business transformation.
Most recently Bruce has been leading the transformation work at Boroondara, helping to deliver a better experience for residents through service improvements, more convenient ways of accessing Council services, and enhanced systems and processes.
Prior to Boroondara, Bruce held senior executive and management roles at the City of Darebin in Melbourne’s north and Yarra Ranges Shire Council. He is a Chartered Accountant with a commercial background working at PricewaterhouseCoopers in Melbourne and London before entering local government.
Bruce is passionate about the opportunity local government has to improve the lives and experience of local communities.
“This is an exciting time to be joining Knox. I resonate strongly with the community’s vision of connecting with our people and our environment, ensuring they are safe, supported and have every opportunity to thrive.
“Knox is well regarded in the local government sector, and I’m looking forward to working with the Council and staff to be the best we can be in meeting the diverse needs of the Knox community,” Mr Dobson said.
Mr Dobson will commence in the role on 8 September 2021.
