- Calling Volunteers For Meals On Wheels
We are currently recruiting new Meals on Wheels volunteer drivers. It’s open to anyone who would like to volunteer and make a difference to someone's life.
Help make a positive contribution to the lives of older Knox residents by delivering ready-made meals one morning a week or more if you are available.
The Meals on Wheels service provides healthy, nutritious meals as well as social connection to some of our most vulnerable and elderly residents in Knox.
Volunteer shifts are from 9:30am to approximately 12:00pm, Monday to Friday
There are approximately 10-12 deliveries on a delivery round. Your deliveries are usually the same morning each week, so you get to know the delivery route and clients on your list. Emergency shifts are available as well for last minute vacancies.
The service is run from the Knox City Council Eastgate North Building, 511 Burwood Highway, Wantirna South.
Training is provided
Essential requirements:
- Must have your own car and a current driver’s license
- Must provide proof of 3 COVID19 vaccinations
- Friendly, ready to make a difference to someone's life
