- Council Puts Knox On The Map In Aston By-election
Knox City Council is asking our community to tell us what issues matter most before they head to the polls next month.
On 1 April there will be a by-election in the federal seat of Aston, which covers Knox.
Knox Mayor, Councillor Marcia Timmers-Leitch said Council hoped the by-election would shine a spotlight on critical issues for our community.
“We’re asking our community to tell us what issues will be most important to them when they cast their votes,” she said.
“Council is meeting with candidates during the election campaign to fight for what’s important for our Knox community. It takes different levels of government working together to achieve the best results for the community that we all represent.
“Together with our community, Council is ensuring that we put Knox on the map and at the forefront of candidates’ minds during the campaign for Aston. Our community should know that we are speaking up, lobbying and advocating strongly for Knox.”
Knox residents and ratepayers are now being invited to tell Council what matters most to them.
The seat of Aston includes the suburbs of Bayswater, Boronia, Ferntree Gully, Knoxfield, Rowville, Scoresby, The Basin, Wantirna, Wantirna South, and parts of Lysterfield, Sassafras and Upper Ferntree Gully.
