- Fire Danger Period Starts 18 December
The Country Fire Authority (CFA) has declared a Fire Danger Period for Knox commencing Monday 18 December.
The use of fire is restricted during the Fire Danger Period, including barbeques and campfires. Burning off is not permitted. Further information about restricted activities is available on the CFA website.
We do not issue Permits to Burn during the Fire Danger Period. If you have been issued a Permit to Burn, it will not be valid after 1am Monday 18 December.
Once the Fire Danger Period ends, you may apply for a new permit. More information is available on our Burning off webpage.
We also encourage you to prepare your property for bushfire season to help protect your family and home. This includes keeping grass cut to less than 10cm, cutting back branches overhanging buildings.
For advice on bushfire preparedness, view the Emergency preparedness booklet or visit the CFA website.
