- The Future of Waste In Knox
We want your feedback on how you use our waste services now and what is most important to you in planning for the future.
You've already told us that reducing our environmental impact is important and this is one of the key directions in our Council and Community Plan (2021-2031). The state government also requires us to change some of our services, with targets to reduce waste and divert as much from landfill.
Did you know that Knox collects over 70,000 tonnes of waste each year through our household, hard rubbish, business, and public litter collection? We also deliver a range of education programs to help our community reduce waste and recycle correctly.
We're already making some changes, with the new food and garden bin service coming in 2023. We also want to know how you feel about the new food and garden bin service and the changes to the frequency of rubbish bin collection.
If you live in a large household or have specific waste needs such as children in nappies, people using incontinence aids, and households with large amounts of medical waste we want to understand what extra support and service options you may need. Register to attend a focus group to work with us to design a service that meets your needs and how we can best support you with the changes or share your feedback through our survey or come along to a pop-up session.
Your ideas will help develop our waste strategy and design future waste services and education programs.
Please visit our Have Your Say online survey, talk with us at a pop up session or we can mail a printed survey to you. Please call our Customer Service on 9298 8000 to arrange this.
