- Kindergartens Across Knox Commence For 2022
This week kindergartens across Knox open their doors to 3 and 4 year-old children.
This year is the first year that kindergartens are offering funded 3YO kindergarten, in addition to existing funded 4 year-old program. This addition is the result of the Victorian Government’s expansion of kindergarten to be a two-year program.
For many children the start of the kindergarten year is an exciting and long awaited event. At kindergarten children explore learning, build their confidence, resilience and resourcefulness and are encouraged to be creative and confident thinkers.
Kindergartens are operated in line with Victorian Government COVIDSafe requirements including mandatory vaccination, twice weekly voluntary rapid testing and mask wearing for educators.
In 2021 a number of Council-run kindergartens had their outdoor areas upgraded to facilitate increased outdoor learning and play, and air purifiers are being delivered this week to each kindergarten.
Welcome to all the 3 and 4 year-olds who are starting kindergarten this week!
There are still vacancies across the municipality. If your child turns 3 or 4 before 30 April this year, they are eligible to attend one of our kindergartens. It’s not too late to register your child. More information is available here.
In addition to Council-run kindergarten services, families are also able to access independently run kindergartens and kindergarten within long day care services within Knox. More information is available here.
For further information, here is a short video about the benefits of 2 years of kindergarten:
