- New Community Spaces In Scoresby
Works have begun for 2 new community dining areas in Scoresby Shopping Village, to further support business recovery.
Council received $300,000 through the COVID Safe Outdoor Activation Fund from the Victorian Government to expand our existing business recovery initiatives.
This fund will support the development of more outdoor dining locations, beautify our local streetscapes, and deliver a range of events in our activity centres to increase foot traffic.
In Scoresby, one dining area will be located on the corner of Ferntree Gully Road and Lynton Place. It will consist of 2 spacious picnic tables and 7 benches. The area will be lined with a hardy grass garden bed, and glass screens will be installed on 3 sides to reduce traffic noise.
The second dining area will be located in the Daryl St park opposite the large carpark. This area will contain 2 modern dining pods that are wheel chair accessible, artistic mudstone seating, and 2 solar powered lights to improve safety and visibility at night.
These works are expected to be completed by the end of May 2022.
We hope locals and visitors will enjoy the new community spaces in Scoresby.
