New wetland proposed for R.D. Egan Lee Reserve

A Masterplan for R.D. Egan Lee Reserve, Knoxfield was endorsed by Council in 2018. Since then, most of the planned improvements for the reserve, including a new playspace, multi-purpose court, and outdoor gym equipment have been implemented.

The final stage of the R.D. Egan Lee Reserve Masterplan is the construction of this wetland in the eastern section of the reserve.

We invite your feedback on the design of the wetland, including the surrounding space with paths, seats, and plants.

Why include a wetland?

  • The Masterplan identified the need for a wetland to help improve the stormwater quality going into the Lakewood Reserve catchment
  • It will provide a water feature and new walking spaces
  • Improves the natural habitat for native animals and plants
