- Open For Online Business
Many of your favourite businesses have opened online stores, with the support of Council’s Grant to help business recovery. Our business community needs our continued support, help keep them going by buying and supporting local.
Online shopping and digital services is the new norm. To help local businesses adapt to this new way of doing business and build resilience, we awarded 57 businesses the e-commerce grant, worth a total of $106,115.
Thai Tables, a restaurant in Bayswater used the grant to develop an online ordering system for their website. This provided customers a new and quick way to place orders from their phones and other devices.
“The new system has helped us to work more efficiently and there are fewer staff required to handle tasks around the counter,” says Chothip Mathasukumchai, who manages the restaurant with her husband Dennis Leung and business partner Bunchoo Fromberger.
The grant has also helped other businesses transition to online:
- Fonda Mexican in Knox, and Korona Csarda in Wantirna introduced online ordering for their restaurants
- Chesterfield Farm developed an online store to sell fresh produce such as milk, honey, free range eggs and various cheeses
- Good Life Party Food Shop, a catering company is offering food packs and dinner boxes online
- Skin Face Body, a beauty clinic is selling nourishing skin care products online
