- Red Lids Changing To Green
From 1 May to 9 June, we will be changing the red lids on your green waste bin to a new lime-green lid.
Please leave your green waste bin out on your regular collection day, even if it is empty, and keep it out until 6 pm.
We will be replacing the lid and delivering a new kitchen caddy, a year's supply of compostable liners, and an information pack about the new food and garden service.
If we miss your bin, please put it out again in the following fortnight.
Changing the bins across all of Knox will take approximately 6 weeks (or 3 collection cycles), which means your neighbours might get their new lid before or after you.
If you are away during this time, ask a neighbour or friend to put your bin out and bring it in for you.
Once you receive a new lid and kitchen caddy, you can add food scraps to your food and garden bin.
The new lime-green lids comply with Australian standards. They also have information about what can and can't go into the food and garden bin. The old red lids will be recycled into new bins.
