- Extra Rubbish Bins Available
We understand that the change to the rubbish bin collection frequency will be challenging for some households with additional waste needs. If you are eligible, you can apply for an extra 120L rubbish bin at no cost.
If your household has additional waste needs
You can apply online for an extra 120L rubbish bin at no cost, if your household has:
• two or more children in disposable nappies or,
• person(s) with chronic illness, disability or medical condition with additional waste needs.
Please note, supporting evidence will be required as part of the application.
Supporting evidence required
For two or more children in disposable nappies
- Documentation to show that there is a family with 2 or more children in nappies in the household (a Medicare card or similar, and an online declaration)
- Valid for 1 year. We will contact you to check whether you still require the additional bin.
For chronic illness, person living with a disability or medical needs
- A letter from a medical practitioner confirming there is need for extra capacity to dispose of additional waste due to chronic illness, disability or medical needs
- Valid for 5 years. We will contact you to check whether you still require the additional bin.
- The bin will be removed if the property changes ownership or we are advised that the extra bin is no longer required.
We are experiencing supply delays for our new bins. If you are successful in your application, please note there will be a delay until late August to deliver your new rubbish bin.
