- Supporting Mental Wellbeing In Community Sport
Paying attention to your mental health is just as important as your physical health. We are hosting a series of free mental health workshops developed by Headspace for anyone involved in community sport.
Each year, one in five Victorians will experience a mental health condition, and 45 per cent of Victorians experience a mental health condition in their lifetime.
Understanding the factors that influence mental health will help people focus on their wellbeing, support their peers, and foster a supportive club culture.
Talking about mental health can be hard, this workshop will provide communication tools on how to initiate discussions and check-in with your peers.
The workshop will also cover the following topics:
- a meaningful definition of what mental health is
- understanding how community sport and mental health are related
- actions and plans to improve mental health wellbeing
- a guide to know who, where, and when to reach out for help.
