- Temporary Closure of Blind Creek Footbridge
Melbourne Water has advised that the footbridge at Fairpark Reserve, Ferntree Gully has been temporarily closed for a safety upgrade.
What are they doing?
Making safety improvements to the pedestrian bridge over Blind Creek in Fairpark Reserve.
Recent inspections have shown that some parts of the bridge need upgrading to make it safer for public use.
While further investigations are undertaken to evaluate the safety improvements, the bridge will remain closed to ensure the safety of the community.
How long will the bridge be closed?
Public safety is the number one priority – the closure is necessary until the safety upgrade works are completed.
Melbourne Water understand how much the community love and use the bridge, so they will make sure the investigations and upgrade works are undertaken as quickly as possible and will provide updates about the timing in due course.
Detours during the closure
While the bridge is closed, please access Wayne Ave and Fairpark Reserve via the Blind Creek Trail, Manuka Drive and the gravel track that runs along the creek. Signage is in place at Fairpark Reserve with details.
