- Kindergarten Commences Soon
Kindergarten will be commencing shortly for 2022. There’s still time to enrol your child into three or four-year-old kindergartens.
From 2022, families can access a two-year funded kindergarten program. This program includes:
- five-hour a week kindergarten program for three-year-olds
- 15-hour a week kindergarten program for four-year-olds.
The kindergarten years are important for every child. Research shows that a child who attends two years of a quality kindergarten program will have better cognitive and social skills on average when they start school. This includes better development in language, independence, and concentration.
We run 30 purpose built sessional kindergartens across Knox. Families can also access funded kindergarten at independently run kindergartens and long day cares, run by private providers.
We understand you may have questions and we are here to help. You can find out more information by:
- visiting our kindergartens page
- learn more about other kindergarten providers in Knox
- contacting our Kindergarten Services Team on 9298 8000 or [email protected]
We look forward to welcoming your child to one of our kindergartens this year.
