About
Knox Factor is an annual talent competition, open to young singers of all skill levels and vocal styles.
Applicants must live, study, work or play within Knox.
Applicants can apply in the following age categories:
- 5 - 11 years
- 12 - 15 years
- 16 - 20 years
- 21+ years
The Knox Factor Grand Final will take place at Knox Carols by Candlelight on Saturday 14 December 2024.
What to expect
Successful applicants are in the running for:
- Professional mentoring in vocal technique, song writing, song choice and stage performance
- Public performance opportunities including the Knox Factor Grand Final at Knox Carols by Candlelight 2024
- Prizes awarded in each category, and will include a mix of studio recording time, awesome music gear and professional coaching sessions.
- Local music and arts networking opportunities and exposure to the industry

How to apply
Supply a video of yourself singing for a maximum 2 minutes.
It must be performed raw with no editing, no backup vocals and no microphones.
You can choose to include one unplugged instrument played by yourself or another.
You can record a song you love, your own original song or a song you’ve adapted into your own style. No explicit language, performance and dress code must be G-rated.
You can record this at home, being mindful of background noise and other peoples’ privacy.
We welcome all skills levels and styles, just be your natural self.
Applications open at 5pm on Friday 21 June 2024.
Uploading your audition video
- Upload your audition video to YouTube, Facebook, Vimeo or any other social media account.
- Make sure the video privacy is set to either public or unlisted.
- Click share and copy the URL link.
- Create an online application using the link below and paste the URL link.
Applications close at 11:59pm on Friday 2 August 2024.
Applications must follow these conditions:
- Submitted no later than 11:59pm on Friday 2 August 2024.
- Audition videos must be raw with no editing, backup vocals or microphones.

| Stage 4 Saturday 14 December 2024 (5 to 8pm) | Grand final Successful singers will perform live at Knox Carols by Candlelight to an audience and panel of judges. |

Judging
Our judges come with outstanding resumes in vocal and music performance. Their decisions are final, and scoring is largely dedicated to vocal technique, with some points also awarded for performance and entertainment value.
