- Council Set To Appoint New Kindergarten Providers
At its meeting on 22 July, Knox Council will consider new providers to deliver sessional kindergarten in its buildings from next year.
The recommended providers are all experienced, not-for-profit and independent providers of kindergarten as distinct from long day care. All are currently licensed to operate kindergartens in Victoria.
This follows Council’s decision in August to stop running stand-alone sessional kindergarten services and make its buildings available to other providers from 2025.
Alternative providers were sought through a publicly advertised process. The new providers will be publicly announced when leases are finalised in August 2024.
Final confirmation of new providers is subject to Department of Education approval for each site.
Council will support the new providers in the transition to ensure continuity of quality services for Knox families.
Council will continue to manage registrations, providing one easy way for local families to register their child for kindergarten in Knox.
The meeting agenda is available on our website.
More information will be available after the meeting.
