Enhancing Ferntree Gully Cemetery

We are inviting your thoughts on what features and beautification works you would like to see at Ferntree Gully Cemetery. Have your say by 2 December.

Your feedback will help us develop the Ferntree Gully Cemetery Masterplan.

The masterplan sets out a strategic direction for the cemetery, and it will aim to: 

  • develop more ashes position and memorialisation opportunities to meet community demand
  • implement beautification works to make the cemetery a more welcoming space
  • respect the cemetery’s historical significance and local environment
  • fulfil Council’s ongoing obligation to maintain the cemetery

The cemetery is at full capacity with a limited number of ashes positions remaining for purchase. There is a need to develop more ashes positions and memorialisation opportunities, and the masterplan will address this need.

The masterplan will not change the land size, land zoning or planning controls of the cemetery.
