Free course for over 55’s

Throughout July, VicRoads will be offering a free ‘Wiser Walker, Wiser Traveller’ course to Knox over 55’s.

Accessing everyday activities and being part of the wider community is a key aspect of our wellbeing and social connectedness. If the car is not an option, quality of life can be considerably reduced – and so, we need to be confident accessing a variety of viable transport alternatives.

This course will provide information on a wide range of transport options and support services to assist seniors travelling confidently around Knox and beyond, so they’re able to feel safe and connected to the community.

Topics covered will include:

  • How to get around without access to a car

  • Safe use of public transport

  • Use of a Myki

  • Community transport and support services available

  • Discounted travel passes

Broken into three two-hour sessions, each class falls on the last three Wednesdays of July at Orana Neighbourhood House from 1:00pm – 3:00pm.

You will be required to attend all three sessions in order to complete the course.

  • Wednesday 13 July

  • Wednesday 20 July

  • Wednesday 27 July
