- HV Jones Community Room Seeking New Tenant
Community groups and organisations have a rare opportunity to secure the tenancy of HV Jones Community Room in Ferntree Gully.
Council is seeking Expressions of Interest (EOIs) for the facility located within HV Jones Reserve. Not-for-profit organisations with low income earning potential are eligible for Council’s community rate of $229 per year. The tenant(s) will be responsible for the general operation, maintenance and cleanliness of the room under a 5-year licence agreement with Council.
The facility has the potential to be used by a single group or shared by two or more groups on different days. It could also be run as a casual-hire venue with the tenant booking out the space to other community groups.
Community groups and other organisations with a community focus are eligible to apply.
The Community Room is about 100 square metres and comprises a large open room joined by an open plan kitchen, storeroom and amenities, with an undercover verandah of 29 square metres. The licensed premises are the building and external paved area.
The reserve comprises a sports oval, cricket nets, netball courts, playground and outdoor gym, a public tennis court and three asphalt parking areas, as well as the HV Jones Community Room, a sports pavilion and the HV Jones Community Hall.
Prospective applicants may inspect the facility on September 21 and 26 September at 4pm.
EOIs must be submitted via Council’s eTender Portal by 5pm on Monday 10 October 2022.
For more information, questions may be submitted via the portal or by contacting Emma Hayton on 9298 8000 or at [email protected].
