- Improving Parking In The Basin
We are proposing some minor parking changes in The Basin Triangle to improve safety and accessibility. Have your say by 4 December.
This is your chance to provide feedback on the draft The Basin Parking Management Plan. Your feedback will help us finalise the plan.
Council is responsible for effectively managing parking to ensure it is fair, equitable, accessible and safe for our community. The draft plan outlines strategies and actions on how we do this.
We developed the draft plan following community engagement in early 2021. An independent parking study was also undertaken to further analyse car parking occupancy and duration to inform the draft plan.
Proposed changes include
- Introducing one accessible car space near the post office to improve accessibility
- Providing a bicycle rack to meet cyclist needs in the area
- Improving safety by installing ‘No Stopping’ signage where it is unsafe to park
- Advocating to Department of Transport and Planning about on-street parking and road safety matters
Further information is available on our Have your say webpage.
