- Last Days To Share Feedback On Managing Cats and Dogs
We are currently seeking your thoughts and ideas on how we can better manage cats and dogs in Knox, to develop the new Domestic Animal Management Plan 2021-2025.
Community feedback is open until this Sunday 1 August.
Your feedback will help us ensure we balance the needs and expectations from pet and non-pet owners in our community.
Since community consultation started on 1 July 2021, we have received over 2,700 submissions from both pet and non-pet owners, and representatives from animal organisations and community groups.
We would like to extend a big thank you to all the residents and organisations for participating in the community consultation.
In Knox, we have more than 25,000 registered cat and dog residents living in one in three households.
Pet owners have shared with us how important their dog or cat is to them and their family, and provided a range of ideas and suggestions to improve Council’s animal management services.
Non-pet owners have also been invited to share their thoughts and experiences on topics such as dog off leash areas in public spaces (e.g. parks, reserves), to help us ensure Knox is a great place to live and play for our entire community.
In the coming months, Council will review the community feedback and develop the Draft Domestic Animal Management Plan for further community consultation later this year. Stay updated with this community consultation and subscribe to notifications at our have your say website.
