- MAV Stand For Council Information Session
If you are interested in becoming a candidate in this year’s Council election, consider attending the free Stand for Council information sessions.
Municipal Association of Victoria (MAV) is running candidate information sessions across Victoria, between May to August 2024.
The information session will cover the following topics:
The election process and candidate requirements
Local government and the important role councils play for our local communities
The role and responsibility of a Councillor, including time commitment and decision making
What newly elected councillors can expect soon after the elections
Councillor training and development opportunities
Attendees will receive a Citizen to Councillor Guide 2024, a resource designed to help you understand the importance of this elected position.
Manningham City Council is hosting a Metropolitan East information session on 19 August.
Stand for Council information session
Date: Monday 19 August 2024
Location: Manningham Function Centre, 699 Doncaster Road, Doncaster (Function Room 1)
In-person check in: 6:00pm – 6:30pm
Session Time: 6:30pm – 8:30pm
Registration is essential. Visit the MAV website to register.
