Proposal for new library subleases

We are proposing new subleases with service provider Your Library, to continue delivering the same quality services at Bayswater, Rowville and Knox libraries.

The proposed subleases do not change library services or management at these facilities.

Council needs to give notice for proposals to lease, as part of the statutory process under the Local Government Act 2020.

Knox Council, Maroondah Council and the Shire of Yarra Ranges, are part of the Regional Libraries Agreement (RLA), and Your Library is our library service provider.

The RLA requires Knox Council to provide venues for libraries, which are occupied and managed by Your Library. Council leases premises at shopping centres for the Bayswater, Rowville and Knox libraries.

Council needs to enter into sublease agreements with Your Library, to ensure occupancy arrangements between Council as the tenant, and Your Library as the Occupier.

The expiry dates for the proposed subleases are 2025 for Bayswater Library, 2064 for Rowville Library, and 2044 for Knox Library (these dates align with Council's leases).
