Proposed wetland at Gilbert Park

A proposal for the construction of a wetland at Gilbert Park as part of a Masterplan endorsed in 2018 has begun.

The proposed wetland will be situated on the western side of the park, with the development aiming to offer a range of benefits, including improved water quality.

In addition to stormwater quality and management, the wetland will play a crucial role in enhancing the biodiversity of Knox - providing a conducive environment for various flora and fauna within the site that creates a thriving habitat.

Additionally set to enhance the amenity of Gilbert Park, the proposed plan includes the introduction of a deck/platform overlooking both the existing skate park and the new wetland (with no impact to the skate park). Visitors will be treated to captivating views of the park's natural beauty, aiming to create a serene and attractive space to enjoy.
