- Knox Celebrates Global Intergenerational Week 2024
To celebrate Global Intergenerational Week 2024, visit the Knox Library – Ngarrgoo on Tuesday 30 April between 10am – 4pm to learn more about the heartwarming intergenerational programs that are happening in our community.
Over the past year, Knox has run a number of intergenerational programs and has seen the positive impact these have had on members of the Knox community.
Programs have included:
- Residents from Balmoral Lifestyle Village and Homestyle Age Care Collaboration enjoying activities with children at the Knox Children and Family Centres – Wantirna South and Bayswater
- Playgroup Victoria supporting a pilot intergenerational program that has seen parents, children and seniors enjoying time together and playing and learning from each other.
- Boronia K-12 and community members enjoyed a pilot program in collaboration with Swinburne University and Knox Library. They connected through board games once a week.
- A partnership between the Basin Kindergarten and Martin Luther Homes Aged Care, that has seen children having the opportunity to visit the facility and enjoy activities and sharing memories together.
We are looking forward to expanding our programs this year with Boronia K-12 and more primary schools being actively involved.
The information pop up at the Knox Library will be an opportunity to build your understanding on intergenerational programs and how to get involved in you choose.
Join us for to hear more at Knox Library – Ngarrgoo on Tuesday 30 April, 10am – 4pm.
