- Knox Dementia Friendly Communities Launch
To coincide with Dementia Action week, the Knox Dementia Advisory Group is hosting an information session and mini-expo on Tuesday 19 September to raise awareness of dementia and highlight the various services and supports available for people living with dementia and their carers in Knox.
Dementia Action Week runs from Monday 18 September to Sunday 24 September 2023, and aims to reduce stigma and discrimination experienced by people living with dementia and their carers.
There are many types of dementia, including Alzheimer’s disease, vascular dementia, frontotemporal dementia and Lewy body disease. Anyone can develop dementia, though it is more common for people over 65. People with dementia and their carers, families and friends can continue to live fulfilling lives, with access to the right supports and services.
Date: Tuesday 19 September 2023
Time: 10:30am - 1:30pm (doors open at 10am)
Where: Knox Community Arts Centre, 790 Mountain Hwy, Bayswater
