- Proposed Leases
We are proposing 2 leases with AusNet, an electrical supplier, to enable them to continue maintaining existing electrical substations on Council land.
We need to ensure our facilities have reliable and adequate electrical supply for services and operations. This involves Council entering into lease agreements with an electricity supplier to maintain and operate electrical substations on Council land.
The proposed leases with AusNet is for 2 existing electrical substation at the following locations:
- Fairpark Reserve, Ferntree Gully
- Knox Civic Centre, Wantirna South
Entering into these proposed leases will ensure continued supply of electricity at these locations, and avoid disruption of electrical services.
The proposed lease agreements are for a proposed period of 25 years with a further term of 25 years. Council needs to give notice for proposals to lease, as part of the statutory process under the Local Government Act 2020.
