Work experience and student placements

Learn new skills and experience by taking part in our work experience and student placement programs.

Our year 10 work experience program is currently on hold. Please check back again in 2025 for updates.

Student placements with Knox City Council Youth Services

Applications are only open to tertiary students studying Youth Work or related courses. 

If you are interested in applying for a Youth Work related student placement, please contact the Knox City Council Contact Youth Services team on [email protected].

Students must contact us before applying. 

We only accept applications when we have availability for student placement. It's important to understand suitability, criteria and the application process before submitting an application.

After contacting us, you will need to prepare a: 

  • letter of application
  • copy of your resume
  • completed student information form
  • completed selection criteria form

Further requirements for student placement 

If selected for the next stage, you will need to supply: 

  • an up-to-date Working with Children check
  • a current police check

We may also ask you to come in for an interview or to supply extra information. Knox City Council Youth Services can only support one placement student at any given time.
