About the National Disability Insurance Scheme
The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is how support is provided to people with a permanent and significant disability in Australia.
The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) is the agency responsible for implementing the NDIS.

Council’s Disability Leadership Program
The program focuses on actions and initiatives such as:
- running leadership programs for people with disabilities
- supporting and promoting increased access to sport and recreation
- peer support and capacity building for parents and carers through events and groups
- working with early years services to enhance access and inclusion for children with disabilities or developmental delays, their families and carers
- improving access to the Knox community and information.
