Local Community Areas
Attending kindergarten in the same Local Community Area in which you live meets Priority Two of the Priority of Access criteria . This increases your chances of securing a placement at your desired kindergarten.
The map below, under "Groups and Sessions," shows Local Community Areas with red boundary lines for easy identification.
Groups and sessions
To view the kindergarten programs relevant for your child:
- Select the year and age your child will attend kindergarten
- Add your address to see kindergartens in your area
- Then click on each kindergarten on the map to see their scheduled programs.

Sizes of kindergarten groups
Group sizes vary between services:
- there is a mixture of group sizes between 22 and 33 children
- groups of more than 22 children have an additional qualified educator
For all groups the playroom and playground space has been assessed by the Department of Education and approved for the maximum number of children that can be in a kindergarten group.
