To amend your building permit:

Key steps for extending your permit

  • You will receive a reminder letter 30–60 days before your permit is due to lapse.
  • Submit your extension request before the expiry date.
  • Check the fees page to understand the cost of an extension.
  • Your building surveyor will assess your request and grant an extension if appropriate.

If your permit lapses

  • You may need to apply for a new building permit.
  • Your building surveyor will advise you on the next steps based on your project status and compliance requirements.
